Plone
- ventajas:

- to define an initial version of a «production» workflow,
- then use it to configure a plone server prototype which can be
hosted in any DSL server availaible, for example.
- test it
- and then look for, set up and run the definitive server.
For 1., seems to me is a non obvious work. We had the initial info
on which base the design (the David Merrill proposal and the draw I
show you) but I think some time is needed to learn about how
workflows should be and to ensure some kind of usability (you know,
to avoid the «perfect technical application nobody wants to use»
syndrome). Since there is some in interest here in Hispalinux
(TLDP-ES and HL have a very strong synergy) in use workflow in the
association, maybe it help to speed us. Anyway, I'll be in Mexico
next week and I'll meet with a friend who has study about workflows
and I'll try to convince him at least to design it ASAP.
For the 2. point, I think there will be no problem to get a
volunteer to offer his/her server at home. Maybe Hispalinux could
host it too.
The point 3. is obvious, isn't? :-)
The point 4 could be targeted as soon we have a satisfactory
prototype, and we can display all our lobby power to look for get
the new server. Again, maybe we can share this solution with
Hispalinux or maybe they'll have the server for us.
The new service could be the corner stone of convergence between
TLDP-* if we share the same workflow, which in theory could be
completely independent of the document format and the publishing
schema or web style. Indeed, if it work as I'm imagining, it'll be
a quantum leap for the libre documentation world on Internet.
