Readings: The Corporation that Changed the World: How the East India Company Shaped the Modern Multinational
If
you are interested on knowing how evil a big corporation can be this
is a great reading. It can impress more when you fully realize all of
that was before the XX century. It address some of the most important
issues a corp got evil. Sadly I don't think the book's conclusions on
proposals of social responsability could fix the problem of the
perverse corporation behaviour. Another organizational tool is needed
but is not addressed in the book. [Commented on Amazon].
Netoffice RPM package for Fedora/CentOS
I've just released the RPM package for NetOffice Dwins. NetOffice Dwins it's a free web based time tracking, timesheet, and project management environment. It includes groupware module, manage web projects with team collaboration, users management, tasks and projects tracking, files approval tracking, project sites clients access, customer relationship management, person evaluation, timesheet.
The package is available at my own repo. It's made for working with the stock distro plus the most used public repos. Seems to work in FC4 and CentOS5 systems. Hopefully it could be rebuilded on your favorite RPM distro without hassle. It's configured for working with the lovely PostgreSQL database instead of the hyped MySQL.
I plan to use Netoffice strongly in the next weeks. I hope it can fit to manage better my consulting work. That means I plan to maintain the package up to date. Hope it'll be useful to you.
Smart configuration for CentOS 5 package repositories
Do you love the Smart package manager and want to to use it on your brand new CentOS 5 / RHEL 5 system? Maybe you'd be interested in reusing my configuration. Enjoy them,
